"What Dreams May Come" in The Red Gumboot Storytime Colouring Book(Spring 2008)

Brooke grew up in a small town in Georgia where she used to sneak away from her elementary school class to visit the library.  As a young girl her lifelong dream was to “live inside a picture book.“ Brooke held fast to her dream and you could say the only thing different between that little girl and the grown up she is today is - A few inches in height and a few credentials on her résumé.   Realizing she was too big to actually live inside a picture book - she decided to do the next best thing and write them instead!

Today Brooke lives in that same small town in Georgia with her husband Chris, their children Alex, Brock and Emily along with a bug-atrium full of ladybugs.  When she’s not busy playing hide-n-go-seek with her kids, she works with her wonderfully sweet agent, Ronnie Ann Herman, writing books for children.  Brooke’s poetry for kids has appeared in Adoption Today and gift stores around the world.  She is a columnist for Family First Magazine and her articles have appeared in Mom Sense along with other parent/child publications.

What does Brooke say is her greatest achievement?  Becoming an example for little ones everywhere that dreams really do come true!

Artistic Inspirations:

There is nothing like sitting in a patch of grass and taking inspiration from the beauty of a sunny day and all of God’s creations. Her children Alex, Brock and Emmy enable her to view the world thru the eyes of a child.  She says her kids make her feel younger every day!
