Izabela was born in Skarzysko Kamienna, Poland but when she was seven moved to Rome, Italy where she grew up. She discovered her talent for art when she was very young and once she started drawing she found she couldn’t stop!

When Izabela arrived in Canada in 1990 she was sent to an art high school, and after graduation went to Art College in Vancouver (Vancouver Film School) where she completed her studies in 2D animation. Her first film, Playtime, was bought by Film Roman (creators of The Simpsons).

For the next 3 years Izabela worked mainly in 2D animation on feature films and tons of commercials. Then the world started to lean more to 3D animation so she went back to school to learn how to animate in 3D. Right after graduation her film Loco Melones won first place at the AMD 64 Processor International Animation Festival (2003)!

Since then, Izabela has worked on a German feature called Happily Never After and her own film, Oma’s Quilt, funded by a grant from the National Film Board of Canada.

Izabela is now hard at work on illustrations for The Thirteenth Floor - BOOK 2, the second in a series of three picture books for 5-10 year olds.
