Calling the Fish is a story of love and lessons passed from generation to generation, and the immeasurable value of time spent with grandparents.

Glenn G. Coats is a three-time Pushcart  nominee. His work has appeared in a number of magazines including Poet  and Highlights for Children. He has been a regular contributor to the New Jersey English Journal for thirteen years. Glenn is a student of haiku poetry and his own poems appear in several literary journals: Presence, Bottle Rockets, Mayfly, The Heron’s Nest, Modern Haiku, Acorn, and Moonset. A collection of poetry, Trying to Move Mountains, was published in 2005 by the Reading Recovery Council of North America. A children’s book, Waiting for a Frog, was published by Kaeden.

Glenn serves as the Tutor Coordinator for Tri-County Life Learners in Farmville, Virginia. His work involves teaching adults how to tutor others in reading and writing. Glenn lives with his wife Joan in a rural part of Prospect, Virginia. Their house is surrounded by pine trees and finches. They have three children and four grandsons who always inspire new poems and stories.
